Dynamic 4yo TACT (g. The Autumn Sun x Total Discretion) went to the sport for the 12th time in his career with already 2 wins and 2 placings from 11 race starts.
However, TACT was having his first start for his new trainer Jason Deamer on Tuesday 6th January and was successful in winning race 6 at Port Macquarie, the TAB.com.au Bm66 Handicap over 1500m.
Looking in perfect condition, and ridden beautifully by Aaron Bullock, TACT was asked to carry 61.5kgs and was sent to the barriers as $4.40 third favourite but proved too strong when defeating $3.90 second favourite Naughty Nurse 57.0kgs by 0.26 length, with Golden Honour (58.5kgs) ($14) 1.66 lengths third. $2.60 Favourite Rockbarton Angel was beaten 2.66 lengths and finished 5th.
Jumping away well there was a fast early tempo which saw TACT drift back early, allowing Aaron to watch what was unfolding.
In a decisive move, and sitting one off the paint, TACT had the favourite inside him on the fence whilst the eventual runner-up was caught 3-deep and wanting to pull back and get cover behind the leaders.
In a blink, Aaron asked TACT to improve a half-length causing Naughty Angel to be trapped out wide heading into the top turn.
Its rider pushed the handlebars down to go to the lead burning petrol rather than sitting wide.
Down the side on the track, nothing changed in the race pattern until just before the turn into the home straight.
Here Aaron peeled out off the heels of the horse he was tracking and now 3-wide, started to reel-in the leader.
Spotting Naughty Angel a 2-length head start and 4.5kgs in weight, TACT gave chase.
Stride-by-stride, our Dynamic Duo gained ground and over the final 50m obtained the upper-hand and went to the line strongly to record a widening 0.26 length win.

This victory recorded our Second Win for this New 2026 Calendar Year, and both these have been trained by Jason Deamer who is based at Newcastle.
It was also our 23rd Race Win for the current racing season and recorded our 976th Race Win Overall.
