There are champion racehorses.
There are champion stallions.
Then there are the rare few whose influence transcends
generations and forever changes the landscape of Thoroughbred breeding.

SAVABEEL at Waikato Stud = 10 times Champion Sire.
Savabeel belongs in that exclusive company.
A brilliant racehorse who captured the Cox Plate and
Spring Champion Stakes before retiring to Waikato Stud in New
Zealand, Savabeel went on to become one of the greatest stallions the Southern
Hemisphere has ever known. Crowned New Zealand's Champion Sire on ten
occasions, he produced more than 150 Stakes winners, more than 30
individual Group One winners and progeny that amassed almost $190 million in
prizemoney.
His influence has shaped pedigrees, built broodmare bands
and established dynasties that will continue for generations.
With his recent passing, the curtain has fallen on one of
the most remarkable breeding careers our industry has witnessed in the past few
decades.
Whilst his legacy will live on through his sons and
daughters, there will never be anymore crops of Savabeel being
created. There are 33 foals on the ground and approximately 60 mares in foal
and on his fertility that’s likely to deliver about 30 live foals in 2026. That’s
it !
That reality was something Dynamic Syndications recognised
long before the sad news of his passing.
Aware that advancing age and declining fertility were
naturally limiting the number of mares he was serving, we made a conscious
decision to return to the New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale at
Karaka earlier this year.
It was our first buying trip to Karaka since 2020.
We travelled with one clear objective.
To find the very best Savabeel colt on the salegrounds.
This was not a value buying exercise. It was not about
purchasing the cheapest colt or finding an overlooked bargain.
It was about identifying the individual we believed best
represented everything Savabeel stood for as both a racehorse and a sire.
For weeks before the sale, Adam Watt and I studied the
catalogue, analysed pedigrees, assessed physical types and narrowed our list of
prospects. Once inspections began at Karaka, we spoke several times each day,
comparing notes, discussing each colt, and continually refining our shortlist.
As each inspection was completed, one colt continued to rise
above the others.

Our Colt at Trelawney Stud NZ prior to the sales
The bay colt from the outstanding Pins mare Smashing.
Quite simply, in our opinion, he was the best Savabeel colt
offered at the sale.
That opinion was never based on his sire alone.

Smashing - a Track record breaking, stakes placed daughter of Pins
His dam Smashing is by the outstanding broodmare sire Pins,
whose daughters have proven an exceptional match with Savabeel over many years.
The cross has produced a long list of high class performers and consistently
delivers the athleticism, toughness and versatility for which both sire lines
have become renowned.
Smashing herself is a beautifully bred mare from a deep black
type family that has continued to produce quality performers generation after
generation. When outstanding sire power is matched with an elite female family,
we analyse the data to determine if this has a propensity to deliver a higher
than average opportunity to earn black type. This creates the type of genetic
foundation we actively search for when investing on behalf of our owners and ourselves.
Physically, the colt possessed
the balance, strength, athleticism and presence we were searching for.
Genetically, he ticked every box. He was not simply one of the better Savabeel
colts on offer.

Our Colt at the yearling sales
We believed he was the complete package.
Since arriving in Australia, everything we hoped to see has
only strengthened that belief.
The colt recently completed his first educational
preparation under respected horseman Shane Rose.
Having broken in and educated thousands of young
Thoroughbreds throughout his career, Shane's opinions carry significant weight.
His assessment of this colt was both simple and compelling.

Our colt being worked by Shane Rose
A rare rating of nine out of ten.
That is the highest mark Shane is prepared to award a
yearling.
Equally encouraging has been the colt's continued
progression through his work. His temperament has been exemplary, his action is
fluent and athletic. His early gallops have confirmed the natural ability we
believed was there when we first inspected him at Karaka.
Of course, no one can guarantee how any young horse will
perform once they reach the racetrack.
If that were possible, every champion would have been
obvious from the day they were sold.
Great racehorses are rarely the result of one outstanding
parent. More often they are the product of exceptional sire power matched with proven
female families. We believe this colt
offers exactly that combination.
What we can do is identify the qualities that consistently
give horses the greatest opportunity to succeed.
Outstanding genetics.
Excellent conformation.
Athletic movement.
Professional temperament.
Then we add in:
Expert education.
Experienced training.
We believe this colt now possesses every one of these
ingredients.
The confidence shown by our owners would suggest they agree.
Before making this colt available to the broader public, we
extended an exclusive invitation to a group of our longest standing clients who
have supported Dynamic Syndications over many years.
The response exceeded even our expectations.
Nineteen of the twenty ownership interests were secured
almost immediately.
That leaves just one remaining five percent share available.
For those seeking a smaller involvement, that final interest
may also be divided into two 2.5% shares.
There is no doubt that part of this colt's appeal lies in
the extraordinary legacy of his sire.
That is entirely understandable.
Great stallions leave a legacy.
Exceptional stallions leave opportunities that eventually
disappear.
We did not purchase this colt simply because he is one of
the final sons of Savabeel.
We purchased him because we genuinely believe he was the
best Savabeel colt available for purchase this year.
That belief has not changed.
In fact, every step of his journey since arriving in
Australia has only reinforced our confidence that we made the right decision.
For those who have followed Savabeel's remarkable story from
Cox Plate winner to ten time Champion Sire, this colt represents something very
special.

Savabeel winning the Cox Plate
For those simply looking to race an outstanding young colt
with genuine credentials, he represents exactly the type of horse Dynamic
Syndications has built its reputation upon.
One exceptional individual.
One extraordinary sire.
One final opportunity.
