Widden Stud’s sire TRAPEZE ARTIST is "flying" this season having added 12 black type horses to his resume after he sired two (2) new stakes-winners to his tally.
SPICY MISS captured the Gr2 ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) and booked her ticket into the Golden Slipper. Then shortly after, Perth 3YO gelding THE CRIMSON PIRATE won the Listed WATC Lex Piper Stakes (1600m).
The Crimson Pirate ended a frustrating run of runner-up positions when victorious in a dominant display last time out on February 15 at Ascot. That obviously gave him much needed confidence. He relished the stepping out to a mile and demoralised his peers winning by a widening two and a half lengths. His record is now 9 starts: 2 wins and 6 placings with prizemoney over $173,000.
Passed in as a yearling and raced by his breeder Oakland Park Stud, The Crimson Pirate is a half-brother to stakes-winner King Kapa and half-brother to stakes-placed Churning. He is one of six winners from six foals to race from the stakes-winning Jet Spur mare Emmalene, whose a full-sister to the dam of Gr1 winner Uncommon James. Emmalene produced a colt by Victor Ludorum (GB) last year before going to Oakland Park’s young sire Ingratiating.
The Crimson Pirate became the 12th stakes winner for his sire TRAPEZE ARTIST and became his seventh (7th) stakes winner this season. Further he was the third (3rd) stakes winner in a week for TRAPEZE ARTIST after our Dynamic Syndications mare PIGGYBACK (TRAPEZE ARTIST ex WOWEE) won the Parramatta Cup Gr3 the previous Saturday.

TRAPEZE ARTIST has sired 9 individual winners in the past 9 days.
In addition to 12 Stakes Winners, he has also sired 15 Stakes Placegetters.
His seven (7) stakes winners this season are: PIGGYBACK, PANOVA, DISNECK, WHERE’S THE CIRCUS, THE CRIMSON PIRATAE, SPICY MISS, CHILLY GIRL and five (5) Stakes Placegetters: ARTISTIC VENTURE, MOONLIGHT CIRCUS, TUPAKARA, BIG SWINGER, IMAGE ARTIST.
In yet more good news for another Dynamic Syndications co-ownership team, the Owners of our 2yo filly I AM FORCEFUL (I Am Invincible ex Churning) were delighted that The Crimson Pirate was successful at stakes level.

As highlighted above, 3yo gelding The Crimson Pirate is a half-brother to Churning, and she is the Dam of our filly I AM FORCEFUL. The additional Bold Uppercase Black Type close-up in the pedigree page is a very nice commercial result.
Team Dynamic had anticipated TRAPEZE ARTIST could have a real kick along on the back of PIGGYBACK who has won the ATC Colin Stephen Quality Gr3 2400m and the Parramatta Cup Gr3 1900m in two of her past 4 races.

She is on a programme that is heading towards a start in the Gr1 Sydney Cup. Her immediate programme will include either the Canberra Cup 2000m 8/3 or the day prior Randwick City Stakes 2000m 7/3, then onto the WFA Gr1 Tancred Stakes 2400m on 28/3 before heading into the 3200m Gr1 Sydney Cup on 11/4.
PIGGYBACK is the second-best of the progeny of her sire and the Best Filly by TRAPEZE ARTIST to date, being a dual Gr3 winner with only GRIFF ranked above her after its Gr1 win of the Caulfield Guineas appearing on his resume. GRIFF is retired and has begun a career at stud.
It was no coincidence that Dynamic Syndications aimed to buy a high-quality yearling filly this year by TRAPEZE ARTIST. We knew what we had in the locked and loaded, waiting to fire with PIGGYBACK and we also had a good idea of what other progeny were out and about and likely to make an impact in the Autumn and we are now starting to see that wave of winners.
At the Magic Millions Dynamic Syndications / Dean Watt Bloodstock purchased a fabulous filly by TRAPEZE ARTIST (SNITZEL) ex SALLY’S REALM (MORE THAN READY).

Her Dam SALLY’S REALM was a city winner winning 3 races from 1200m to 1400m. She is the Dam of two foals to race since the catalogue was printed for 1 winner: CAPTIVATING TYCOON a 3yo Colt by Capitalist was an $85,000 yearling. 4 starts: 1-1-1-1 and is now spelling. Her first foal SPLICED a 4yo mare (by Exceed And Excel) was a $525,000 yearling who has started twice including a fifth placing on debut and is spelling. Whilst the current 2yo named Street Monarch (Street Boss) was passed in for $110,000 as a yearling. She is unraced to date and our filly is her fourth foal.
SALLY’S REALM is a full-sister to terrific Queensland based sire BETTER THAN READY (8 wins) a three-time stakes winner and Gr1 placegetter.

The 3rd Dam is Stakes Placed SALLY MAGIC who won 2 races and was runner-up in the rich Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
Whilst the 4th Dam is 2yo stakes winner SLEEPY TIME GIRL.
