Dynamic Syndications celebrated another racetrack success and victory number 984 on Tuesday at Taree when PICCADERRO delivered a determined victory in the GET YOUR 2026 MVRC MEMBERSHIP CLASS 1 HANDICAP over 1400 metres.
Prepared at Newcastle by trainer Jason Deamer and ridden with confidence by leading jockey Ashley Morgan, PICCADERRO proved too strong for his rivals when it mattered most, recording his second career victory, and continuing the gelding’s steady rise through the grades.
Run on a Soft 6 surface, the race was completed in 1:27.45 with the final 600 metres covered in 36.44 seconds. From the outside barrier, Ash allowed the four-year-old brown gelding by Pierro from Piccadillies to begin cleanly before easing him back toward the rear of the field where he travelled comfortably through the early and middle stages.

PICCADERRO remained in that position until approaching the 600-metre mark where Ash began to edge his mount forward, improving around the field and building momentum. By the time the field reached the home turn the gelding was five wide but importantly had clear running and was only two lengths from the leaders as they straightened for the run home.

Once balanced in the straight PICCADERRO lengthened beautifully. At the 200 metres he surged to the front and from that point he maintained control of the race.

Showing determination and strength to the line he held his rivals at bay and edged clear to score by a Long Neck over Anoint, with Explosive Tycoon a further 0.61 lengths away in third.

Then the Sky Central commentator said: “PICCADERRO gets the job done, aided by a nice patient ride from Ash Morgan. Riding to instructions, he let the speed go. He had drawn an awkward barrier. He was able to get to the best part of the track, and he gets his second career win on the board at start number 11. Anoint has battled on well from up on top of the speed. Third goes the way of Explosive Tycoon. He had a beautiful run in transit. And Maggie Sparkles, the horse they backed finished in fourth position, but PICCADERRO gets the job done here for Jason Deamer and Ash Morgan, and we'll see what Jason thought of that. This gelding by Pierro gets his second win on the board.”
“Well done, Jason. That seemed to pan out perfectly.”

Jason Deamer responded: “Yeah, it did. He got a long way back, but I think he was nice and relaxed. Probably got on the back of a horse that took him most of the way into the race, and then just cleared out wide coming into the corner. But once he balanced up, he wasn't that far off them, and he found the line nicely. Good job by him. 1150m up to the 1400m, so that's a good effort from him with the big weight too.
“In time, can you see him even getting out over a little bit further, perhaps?”
“Yeah, maybe to a mile. But because he has had a breathing operation last time in, it was his first prep with me, and he couldn't breathe. So luckily, the Dynamic Syndications crew decided to get the operation done and as you can see, this time in he's a much-improved horse. Thank you very much.”
Jason Deamer then recorded a post-race interview with Ash Morgan for the owners:
Jason said “Ash, PICCADERRO was a good, nice win today, nice and relaxed early and hit on strongly.
Ash responded “Yeah, and that's the key to him this time in. He's just relaxing really well and then, able to ride him off the speed. I think we went a nice gallop through the run and he relaxed really nicely for me, and then from the 600, I was able to just blend him into the race and he had them covered a long way out, which in turn, probably just got us standing there a little bit too soon. When he got there, he had a bit of a look and thought the job was done. So, I think 1400 is his trip. I think the quicker they go, the better it will be, because he can just sit off them and he's got a really good cruising speed, that he can travel into the race and go a turn of foot at the back of it. Now if you sort of trust him that way, you can just sit on him a little bit longer and he'll go through his gears again. Thank you.”
The victory was well deserved for a consistent performer. PICCADERRO now has a record of two wins, one second and four thirds from his eleven career starts and has lifted his prizemoney earnings to $75,159. This preparation for Jason, PICCADERRO won his maiden first up at Port Macquarie 1200m, then was a gallant runner-up beaten a pimple over 1150m at Newcastle in a Bm58 last start before a confident win third up here at Taree over 1400m.
