"HAPPY HORSES BIRTHDAY" Tuesday 1st August 2024

Dynamic Syndications sends out "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" wishes to our entire stable of horses today, as Tuesday the 1st of August 2024 (in the Southern Hemisphere) is the Horses’ Birthday.

The 1st of August each year is the date all horses are judged to turn one year older, no matter their actual foaling date.

This is implemented to achieve a uniform date for all equestrian pursuits and was introduced because of the historical lack of records of actual foaling dates.

It’s particularly important in the racing industry where a high proportion of racing is conducted in age group classification.

Their actual foaling date is always recorded with the Australian Stud Book but that is of little consequence due to industry standardisation.

Horses foaled earlier in the breeding season will typically have a physical advantage early in the season on the racetrack based upon maturity and physical development.

The 31st July 24 was the final day of the previous Racing Season (2023-24) and today 1st August 2024, is the commencement of the New Racing Season for 2024-25.

It’s an exciting time, as it herald’s Spring is around the corner.

Also, our 2024 Yearling Purchases all become New Season 2YO’s as of today and it’s just 9 weeks until the first 2yo races of the year will be run in Sydney.
