Dynamic Syndications mare JUST IN TIME (5yo m. Justify x Pickin’ Time) trained by JASON DEAMER at Newcastle, resumed from a spell with a terrific WIN at Canterbury Park on the first day of the new 2026 year.

JUST IN TIME looks a picture pre-race
Ridden well by in form jockey Zac Lloyd, JUST IN TIME looked in sensational condition during the pre-race parade and despite a plunge on the favourite seeing that runner backed into $2.20, JUST IN TIME was smashed in late betting, firming from as much as $6.50 into $4.00 second favourite the moment the gates crashed back.
Jumping away swiftly, JUST IN TIME rolled forward and was able to settle just off the pace being set by $2.20 favourite Cassiel, who had rolled straight to the front, and it was joined by Fine Vintage settling into second spot, a length off the leader whilst Sydney Bowler rolled across from out wide to sit in third.
Passing the 1000m peg, JUST IN TIME was fourth, 4-lengths off the speed, with the grey Oakfield Duke trying to push up underneath us trying to hold us off the fence but it couldn’t sustain that effort.
The race was won at the 800m marker when Zac allowed JUST IN TIME to push up and establish its position on the rail, keeping Sydney Bowler from crossing in front of our mare. We had been getting cover from Fine Vintage, who had stayed in the running line one off the fence, to ensure it wasn’t going to get pocked behind the leader Cassiel, who had gone too fast early and would surely run out of petrol a long way from home.
Next, at the point of the top turn, 700m from home, Zac again made a decisive move when he railed up underneath Fine Vintage, keeping that runner wide, and allowed JUST IN TIME to save ground on the inside around the bends.
From the 600m to the 400m at the point of the home straight, JUST IN TIME kept improving and was now setting sail to catch the leader, Cassiel.

The sprint for home was on in earnest, and the leader gave a kick and put up a three-length break and Fine Vintage with a pull in the weights, was in for the fight to our outside.

At the 200m JUST IN TIME was travelling well but was still sitting third, two lengths behind the leader and a neck back to the second horse and we were giving away weight to both those runners.
Passing the 100m mark JUST IN TIME (59.0kgs) had made her move and had reeled-in leader Cassiel (58.0kgs) and runner-up Fine Vintage (57.5kgs), sticking her nose in front.

Stride-by-stride the margin was increasing,

the win was clear with a margin of 0.51 length over Fine Vintage with Zuliqar working home to claim third 0.94 length away, whilst Sydney Bowler was 2.1 lengths fourth.

Zac Lloyd all smiles after his Dynamic Win extends his lead in the Jockey Premiership

Zac Lloyd recorded the following message about the race for our owners:
"Hi Guys, super win by her, very gutsy and very full of merit. She bounced nicely, the pace was very quick, and I wanted to try and find the fence, so I could help her on that hot tempo just have the shortest way around.
"She travelled lovely, but that leader skipped quite quickly about the 600m and that made her really stretch a long way out, so for her first up to be as tenacious as she was, it’s a great attribute to have and hopefully she comes through the run well and she’s in for a lovely prep.”

“And …. Hey Adam ….. we got a winner! You wouldn’t believe it!”
Context of this final sentence: Adam Watt (Dynamic Syndications) and Zac Lloyd are close racing mates. The boys love to banter with one another, especially when Zac’s on Dynamic runners. Zac is in 'white hot' form but has had zero luck in running when on our past few, so with his typical cheeky laugh, he reminded Adam he just won yet another race for us!

Also, a big shout out to our trainer JASON DEAMER.

Our mare looked fantastic and raced the same. Jason's stables has had a tough few months after a virus swept through the stable, causing all our horses to reset their training programmes. As frustrating and time consuming that has been for Jason, Team Dynamic and our various Ownership Teams, together we took a very conservative approach, and that horse husbandry and care given during time, has seen Jason kick off 2026 in the best way possible!
Great job Jason!
