Dynamic Duo Heads to Warwick Farm on Holiday Monday

03 Oct 19

After a big day last Saturday where Dynamic Syndications had two runners YAO DASH who finished a close-up 4th in the $1m Gr1 Golden Rose and then our English import MUSHAIREB resumed from a spell with an eye-catching run to just miss out when finishing runner-up over 1400m, this Saturday our team will be able to enjoy our sport without the added pressure of having runners.

However it’s not a free long weekend as Dynamic Syndications are planning to send two of our horses to the Holiday Monday meeting at Warwick Farm where both PINCER and FALCON ISLAND look well placed in their respective events.

PINCER (3yo gelding REDOUTE’S CHOICE x PRETTY PINS) will certainly appreciate the step up to a mile (1600m) at what will be his third career race start and to help with this assignment, top jockey Kerrin McEvoy has been booked for the ride.

PINCER will compete in Race 2 the Bowermans Office Furniture Maiden Plate 1600m scheduled for 2:00pm where he is Number 5 and has drawn Barrier 9 in a field of 16 acceptances.

Connections are aware that the further the horse gets out in trip, the better he will perform but like building the pyramids, the foundations have needed to be laid before stepping up too quickly in trip.

PINCER is bred to run between 1600m to 2000m and in his trackwork, he has given trainers Gai and Adrian every impression he could be above average out at these distances.

He was sent down to Goulburn on debut over 1300m where he hit the front at the 300m but was out-sprinted in the run to the line, finishing a 1.5 length runner-up in a field of 9 with a large gap back to third.

Then he was sent back to Goulburn in a field of 12 over 1500m where he missed the start and had to be scrubbed along early before finishing just 1 length back in third spot, only a short neck from the runner-up after giving away age, experience and fitness along with the poor start to both those who finished in front of him.

On Monday he looks to map well in this race and third up with the benefit of race experience and fitness and also back to his own age group, it looks a nice race to be competitive and finish in the mix.

In race 4 on the programme scheduled for 3:10pm, our team has FALCON ISLAND (5yo gelding DREAM AHEAD x STRATHSPEY) competing in the Vinery Stud Handicap over 1600m. This is a Benchmark 78 event where FALCON ISLAND will carry equal top-weight of 58.0kgs. He is Number 2, drawn Barrier 4 in a field of 7 runners and will be ridden by our “go to” rider Adam Hyeronimus.

FALCON ISLAND likes to lead and he finds a race that suits his racing style. The speed map indicates he should be able to lead in this event and Adam will be sent out with that his clear goal.

FALCON ISLAND led last start when third-up off a long break and after a hard run early to get across from a wide barrier, he was found to be just a fraction underdone, when a gallant 0.8 len runner-up to Johnny Vinko at Canterbury over the 1550m. The step up to 1600m now looks ideal. Falcon Island has won 3 races with 3 placings from 13 starts with his wins having been at 1550m (1) and 1600m (2) each on a good track surface which appears on early forecasts he will receive on Monday.

This appears an even event and we would expect FALCON ISLAND to be competitive here and again be in the mix.

Best wishes to all our Dynamic Owners of both horses.
