COURU Leads them a Merry Dance to Score on Debut

20 Dec 18

Congratulations to the Dynamic Syndications ownership team that race the regally bred 3yo Filly COURU (All Too Hard x Pas de Deux) who was courageous in her debut run, doing all the hard work but still pull away, to win at Goulburn on Thursday 20/12.

COURU was offered as a Christmas Special on 2017 & 12 months on - Santa delivered on debut

Our Christmas Special of 12 months ago, COURU was withheld to the final offer in 2017 and we were able to offer for sale, small shares as ideal Christmas Gifts and they were snapped up.

12 months on, Santa came early to this terrific team of owners as their filly won.

The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott trained COURU was ridden by Adam Hyeronimus and had drawn wide coming from barrier 10 in a field of 13.

The race was not run to suit which confirms the sensational effort our filly put in to win Race 6, the Harvest Goulburn 3YO Maiden Hcp. The margin was 0.69 len x 0.01 len (3/4 len x nose) running the 1300m in 1:17.42.

Couru winning race 6 at Goulburn on Thursday 20-12

In a wide open event, COURU was heavily backed from double figure odds early when the markets opened and today was $8.50 into $4.80 favourite.

It was a race run with an fast early tempo set by the two Godolphin runners Pauper and Paua who shared the lead with COURU, pushing up underneath her and this pair clapped on the speed to force our filly 4 deep into the first turn and then, making us work twice as hard to get across to where we sat one off the fence, with second favourite Pauper holding the rail.

Very fast early sectionals were posted for the first 600m and combine that with the hard workload and lack of match experience our filly had, she was entitled to knock up and fade away like the Godolphin horses did.

However that’s not in this filly’s temperament. She has a stable name of “CC” (Cranky Couru) and likes to be the boss and bully others.

As the field swung for home, the other Godolphin runner pushed out underneath us and gave our filly a whack which put her off balance.

However for “CC” that was like hitting the “Go Button” and COURU dug deep to record an impressive and dominant win.

It was a terrific result for our owners who not only pick up the first prize cheque of $11,200 they also pick up a $5,000 BOBS Bonus as well.

With such a strong pedigree page, it has ensured the filly will have excellent residual value when the time comes to head off to stud. However that’s a long way off as she has just embarked on a promising future.

COURU is raced by a big team of Dynamic Owners and we congratulate them on their success:

Dynamic Syndications Racing (Mr D W Watt), Mr R W Rose, Mr S P Loane, Dr M G Purcell, Mr D Goodsell, Mr D G Wood, Mrs V K Fleming, Mr J P Kelly, Mr G Schulz, Mr N B Patterson, Mr R J Gall, Mr M A Cowley, Mr G R Hibberd, Miss S T Wilkinson, Dynamic No 57, Dynamic No 58, Dynamic No 59, Mr D Campbell, Dynamic No 60.

What’s in a name? COURU is a ballet dance step that refers to a “running step” and since the Dam of our filly is named “PAS de DEUX” a ballet term for a dance routine performed by 2 people and jockey and horse move in a balanced motion the name COURU is well thought through.

COURU
became Dynamic Syndications 19th Win for the Current 2018-19 Racing Season and recorded our 561st Race Win.

COURU is Dynamic Syndications 198th Individual Winner from 212 Individual Runners (93.4%)

Merry Christmas !
