This time last year Beskar (Snitzel) was showing immense promise with a debut win and a third in the Gr3 ATC Kindergarten Stakes. A year on he has delivered on expectation with stakes success.
Having been gelded and spelled, he resumed from a spell finishing 3rd in the Gr3 MRC Zeditave Stakes and connections elected to send him to Sydney.
Facing the starter in the Listed ATC Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) with champion jockey Damian Lane on board, Beskar was given every opportunity by Lane and produced a sensational display.
He crossed from an outside gate, found the fence, tracked the speed, switched around their heels and kicked clear winning by three-quarters of a length over Agarwood (Wootton Bassett) and Caffe Florian (Snitzel).
Beskar was purchased at Inglis Easter for $600,000 and with two wins and two placings from eight starts and prizemoney of $192,225.
He is one of two winners from Gr2 winning New Approach (IRE) (by Galileo) mare Sword of Light, a half-sister to stakes-winner Sword of Justice.
Beskar became the 169th stakes-winner for champion sire Snitzel.
Whilst shortly after Snitzel sired his 170th individual Stakes Winner when 2yo filly Aurum Belle won a stakes race in Perth.
Eagle eyed followers of Dynamic Syndications will be aware that Dynamic Syndications purchased a fabulous yearling filly by SNITZEL ex NORDIQUE (GB) (by Galileo) from the Arrowfield Stud draft at the Magic Millions this year.
Daughters of Galileo and Daughters of Galileo’s sons have been working very well with SNITZEL as the sire and this is another stakes winner bred this way as New Approach (IRE) is a son of Galileo.

It was with this knowledge we aimed at securing Lot 618 by SNITZEL x NORDIQUE (GB) by Galileo.
This filly is a lovely type and has the page, athleticism and genetics to be a classics contender in the same mould as Autumn Glow.
We thought she was special and so did Arrowfield who have purchased 10% in the filly to race her with us.

NORDIQUE (GB) was unraced but is a 3/4 sister to stakes winner MARTEL, a 1/2 sister to stakes winner BLUSH. Our filly’s Grand-dam is dual Gr1 winner LADY OF SHAMROCK. She is the 1/2 sister to stakes winners SMOOTH JAZZ; SHE’S SENSATIONAL (Dam of OUR WAY).
Again, this filly rated highly on genetics and type. She is bred on the identical cross as SNITZANOVA which explains with the make and shape of the filly why Arrowfield wanted to buy in for 20% and knowing this is the penultimate crop by SNITZEL and not many being made available in the final crop in 2027.
Now the win of Beskar adds further stakes success to the cross.
