With stables at Cambridge & Te Awamutu, New Zealand based trainer Brendon Hawtin is set to give training away in NZ and move to Australia, basing himself at Cranbourne. Brendon Hawtin is a competent and successful Kiwi trainer and made his mark in Sydney earlier this winter with a hit and run mission with Simply Optimistic, who won at Randwick. Brendon began training in 2006-07.

Dynamic Syndications unveiled a promising unraced 3yo gelding at the Randwick trials on Tuesday morning 27/8. ZEMDEGS (by Rubick x Balloons) was ridden by Nash Rawiller for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. Nash took Zemdegs to the front and led throughout.
