The fourth and final session of the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale brought down the curtain on the world’s largest horses in training sale. Sustained demand continued through to the end with a clearance rate in excess of 90% taking the turnover for the sale past 25 million guineas, the third highest in the sale's history.

It was as easy as shelling peas for the Dynamic Syndications owned - Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained TAPICONIC who being ridden by Christian Reith was facing the starter for the first time under our new ownership and his new trainers, with the added pressure of being a $1.30 favourite. However everything went well and TAPICONIC duly saluted.

Dynamic Syndications paid 50,000 Guineas to purchase Lot 485 on Day 2 at the Tattersalls UK Horses-In-Training Sale and he could well be a buy that turns into a sensational result for his group of owners. ​ Is he the best MAIDEN in racing in the UK? YAO DASH only had 3 race starts which were all in his first racing preparation. He earned $158,250 in 3 starts by scoring a win in record time on debut over 1200m at Canterbury, followed by a win in record time over 1300m at Randwick and then was thrown in the deep end to run in the Gr1 1400m Golden Rose when he took on the best 3yo’s in the country finishing 1.5 lengths 4th to BIVOUAC – YES YES YES and EXCEEDANCE. Looking to the future with YAO DASH we avoided the temptation to push on with him and sent him to the paddock for a well deserved break and allow him to unwind with early the spring sun on his back before preparing for an Autumn preparation.

The Everest (1200m) the world’s richest race on turf, worth $14million was run at Randwick on Saturday and proved a triumph for Coolmore Stud, who part-own the winner YES YES YES and also they stand his sire RUBICK, the heir apparent to Coolmore’s much missed champion sire Encosta de Lago. The only three year-old in the field, Yes Yes Yes gained a start in the race after the slot holders first earlier selection Enticing Star failed to come up to expectation.

Gamay became the 19th stakes-winner for super young sire PIERRO, who has been in hot form since the start of the season. Champion Australian First, Second and Third Season Sire, the Golden Slipper winning PIERRO in his first 3 crops of has already produced 5 Gr1 Winners including 2 Derby Winners and could well have a third in 2 weeks time with his son SHADOW HERO being the current favourite for the VRC Derby. On Saturday at Caulfield, GAMAY another of his daughters announced she could easily join Pierro’s previous VRC Oaks winner PINOT as another Gr1 Classics winner this superstar sire when she charged home to impressively Win the Gr3 MRC Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield.
