SAVABEEL Records his 79th Stakes Winner as KAONIC Wins Furphy Plate

On Melbourne Cup Day, 6th Nov 2018 at Flemington, Waikato Stud's Cox Plate-winning sensational Champion sire SAVABEEL (Zabeel-Savannah Success, by Success Express) added yet another Stakes Winner to his resume when 4YO New Zealand-bred entire KAONIC (Savabeel-Fast Love, by Fastnet Rock) ridden by Zac Purton recorded his first stakes win after dashing clear and maintaining a lead to win the $150,000 Furphy Plate (1800m) Listed Race defeating his stable-mate Life Less Ordinary & in third place was Testashadow.

Kaonic

Kaonic, was purchased for $425,000 at the 2016 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale.

His overall record is now 5 wins and 2 placings from 12 starts for $311,175 in earnings.

Kaonic is out of the stakes-winning mare Fast Love and descends from the family of English Oaks & English 1,000 Guineas winner Midway Lady.

Then on Oaks Day Thursday, the most impressive winner on the programme was SAVABEEL’s daughter SAVACOOL.

She claimed Race 3 the Twitter Trophy (Bm90) 1800m.

On Derby Day Saturday 3rd November, the first Day of the VRC Flemington Spring Carnival, Savabeel’s daughter SHILLELAGH (NZ) (Savabeel x Trocair) claimed her second Group 1 victory with an awesome display, to capture the EMPIRE ROSE Stakes 1600m Gr1 for Fillies and Mares.

SAVABEEL has sired 31 Winners in the Past 30 Days.

Kaonic became Savabeel’s ninth (9th) Individual Stakes Winner this racing season along with four (4) Individual stakes placed horses. Amongst these are two (2) Gr1 Winners: Shillelagh and Savvy Coup.
