Dynamic GIRLS HAVE FUN With Their FABULOUS Filly READY TO PROPHET

09 Jun 19

A Racehorse doesn’t have to be WINX to be YOUR FAVOURITE !

A Team of 20 ALL LADY OWNERS know who their FAVOURITE horse is and if asked the question, there will be an instantaneous chorus in response “READY TO PROPHET”

And it’s obvious why !

Dynamic Syndications 3yo Filly READY TO PROPHET (nicknamed “Pudding”) has earnt these ladies admiration based upon her consistency, effort, toughness, competitiveness, courage, along with ability.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ! Here is some of our Ladies Ownership Team with Adrian Bott and Tim Clark

On Saturday at Eagle Farm, READY TO PROPHET was facing the starter for just her 8th Career Start when she ran a courageous 1.7 len 3rd place in the Daybreak Lover Plate – a Listed Stakes Race for 3YO’s over 1200m.

Given the “visitor’s draw” of barrier 10 of 11 against the Boys under Set Weights and Penalties conditions, Ready To Prophet’s run was enormous.

Ready to Prophet had to carry 55.0kg.

Traditionally the males have to give the females a 2.0kg weight allowance but under these conditions, because she was already a Stakes Winner of the Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes at Scone, Ready To Prophet had to carry an extra 1.0kg weight penalty.

So, Ready To Prophet was poorly treated against both the eventual placegetters.

The eventual winner Signore Fox - a Colt without a penalty, carried 56.0kg only having to give Ready To Prophet 1.0kg instead of the traditional 2.0kgs.

Whilst Runner-up Malahide - a Filly without a penalty, only carried 54.0kgs so our lass had to give her 1.0kg weight.

Add to this the extra petrol Ready To Prophet had to use early in the race to go forward and cross from out wide and sit at the girth of the leader whilst both the placegetters had an easy time tracking the speed with cover. Then add in the fact Ready To Prophet couldn’t get to the lead as another runner pushed up from barrier 3 to hold the fence, which saw us sit at its girth without cover, giving the field a tow into the race.

Times also tell a tale and the 3yo’s ran a very slick 1:10.13 coming home the last 600m in 33.81 secs.

Only one race ran a faster last 600m on the programme which was the Dane Ripper Stakes which was more a sit and sprint affair and recorded just an average overall time but the fastest last 600m of 33.59.

The only other 1200m event on the programme was the Hinkler Stakes an Open Company event. They ran a touch quicker overall in 1:10.04 but a slow last 600m in 34.72 secs. Their last 600m is the equivalent of almost 6.5 lengths slower.

When we sit down and analyse the Daybreak Lover in the cold light of day, it’s amazing what a great effort Ready To Prophet put in to come away with 3rd place.

(1) Poorly treated at the weights, (2) bad draw, (3) early work, (4) no cover, plus (5) race time, (6) sectionals and (7) race tempo all add up to consider that mathematically, she should have been well beaten.

However mathematics can’t account for the intangibles of “courage and class” and as a result she has picked up even more valuable “Bold Black Type” for her pedigree page.

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

READY TO PROPHET was named by one of the Ladies in the Ownership Team.

The mare has two (2) prominent muscle indentations on her neck. Known in the industry as “Prophet’s Thumbs” the fable goes these are the “makers mark” left by Mohammed when he touched the horse with his thumb when she was created, to know which were his favourites.

Aso, our filly is from the USA bred mare READY TO LIVE by More Than Ready.

So, a combination of the name of the Dam plus the recognition of the Prophet’s Thumbs produced the name READY TO PROPHET and when its spoken rather than read, it sounds like "PROFIT" and that’s exactly what these ladies are doing from their filly which was purchased by Dynamic Syndications for just $40,000 as a yearling at the Magic Millions Sales.

With now over 4 times her purchase price banked in prizemoney and her residual value when retirement comes, currently estimated at about 10 times what we paid for her, these ladies own an aptly named filly.
