200th Individual Winner From 217 Runners for DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS

10 Feb 19

Another milestone was achieved by Dynamic Syndication when our 200th Individual Winner from 217 Individual Runners greeted the judge on Saturday 9th February 2019.

FEMTOMETRE
(a 4yo mare by Excelebration from Nuclear Force) resumed from a spell to win the Drought Buster Maiden Hcp over 1200m by 0.58 x 0.61 lengths in a time of 1:11.88 carrying 58.0kgs in a field of 11 runners, spotting each of her peers weight at the NSW TAB SKY 2 Country meeting held at Gilgandra.

Her Scone based trainer Brett Cavanough took the mare “up the highway to do a job” and FEMTOMETRE proved too classy and too strong for her peers.

“Job Done” and in the process she added nicely to her residual value as a broodmare prospect because now she is a winning half-sister to dual 2yo Stakes Winner DEFCON (c by Choisir) 2 wins-1 at 2-at 1200m, $368,250, MRC HDF McNeil S., Gr.3, Canberra RC Black Opal S., Gr.3, 2d ATC Silver Slipper S., Gr.2, Canonbury S., Gr.3

Her Race record reads: 7 Starts: 1 win, 2 seconds, 1 third.

Originally trained at Hawkesbury where she was going terrible and honestly flat out beating the ambulance home in two starts, Dynamic Syndications advised Femtometre’s owners to remove the mare and send her to a rural environment.

We relocated Femtometre to the care and attention of Brett Cavanough.

Since arriving with Brett, he has had Femtometre now for 5 starts for 1 win-2 seconds-1 third and her only unplaced run was on a Heavy 10 surface.

FEMTOMETRE’S win was also trainer Brett Cavanough’s 10th Winner in his last 50 Runners (20%) and his 29th Winner for the season from just 202 runners (14.4%) which see’s Brett placed in the Top 10 Trainers overall in NSW and the Number 1 Country based trainer.

It may have only been a TAB Sky 2 Meeting at “Royal Gilgandra” however the way the mare won was full of merit and ensures confidence that she will add more wins to her resume before she retires for stud duties later this year.

Having drawn wide in a field of 11, carrying top weight and giving away weight to the boys and all other runners, the instructions were to lead around the tight turning track where getting back is a no-go zone with a tiny 180m home straight.

However as they jumped Femtometre was on the back foot and she missed the start half a length which meant the field kicked up underneath her, planting her 4 deep on settling and with plenty of pace on, she found herself trapped without cover, so rider Billy Cray allowed the mare to find her rhythm and settle back in the field with only a couple behind her.

Still 3 deep to the 600m, the rider asked her to improve but with a wall of horses in front of her and such a short straight, Billy had set the mare a near impossible task to circle the field 6 deep, then 7 deep and then 9 deep around the home turn whilst others saved ground cutting the corner. Despite the significant extra distance she was covering, Femtometre was full of momentum and she kept giving all the way to be full of running on the post recording a tough win.
