11th Individual 2yo Winner for Arrowfield's OLYMPIC GLORY

14 Sep 18

Arrowfield Stud shuttler Olympic Glory (IRE) had a stylish winner in France on Wednesday with 2yo colt Inde scoring easily at Longchamp.

Bred and raced by Al Shaqab Racing, Inde was second on debut at Deauville and improved on that effort to post a 1.5 length win over 1400m.

Inde is the second winner from Galileo mare No Truth, a half-sister to the dam of imported stayer Libran (IRE), a multiple Group winner.

Inde became the 11th first crop winner for Olympic Glory, Choisir's champion son, who stands at Arrowfield Stud at a fee of $16,500.

His first Australian runners are two year-olds this season.
OLYMPIC GLORY was a four-time Group 1-winning European sprinting star, whose superb first crop yearlings sold for up to $600,000.

A Champion 2YO, a Champion 3YO Miler and a four-time Group 1-winning sprinter-miler – OLYMPIC GLORY won Gr1 races at 2, 3 and 4.

He joined the Arrowfield roster in 2015.
Olympic Glory stood his first Northern Hemisphere season at Al Shaqab’s Haras de Bouquetot in France and then shuttled to Arrowfield Stud.

When Australia’s breeding industry powerhouse Arrowfield Stud backs a shuttle stallion, the vibes are right.

Arrowfield Chairman John Messara said, “Olympic Glory is a first class stallion prospect and as such is a major asset for Australian breeders. We look forward to launching Olympic Glory’s southern hemisphere career with a strong book of mares.”

John Warren, a bloodstock advisor to The Queen and advisor to Al Shaqab, says, “Sheikh Joaan is delighted that Olympic Glory will be standing at Arrowfield; John Messara’s team have a wealth of experience standing top class stallions and are committed to making Al Shaqab’s first venture into the Australian thoroughbred industry a success.”

Now the sire is off to a flying start in Europe.
Three years after being a superstar racehorse he made his presence felt in Australia with excellent results at the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Olympic Glory more than held his own in a strong field of first season sires, with 12 Book 1 lots sold for an average price of $181,667 - around 10 times his service fee. He backed this up with exceptional Inglis Classic and Easter results, ending the main sales season with 7 lots sold for more than $200,000 and a top price of $600,000.
He is now a Hot First Crop Sire in Europe.
OLYMPIC GLORY is doing a fantastic job overseas and whispers are circulating here in Australia amongst the big stables.

There are high hopes for this brilliant son of Choisir to make an immediate impact in Australia with his first crop 2yo’s, especially when the trip gets out to beyond 1200m in the Autumn 2yo races.

OLYMPIC GLORY sired his 11th individual winner from 29 runners when Inde won over 1400m in France on Wednesday.

From his 11 winners they have won 12 races at the following distances:

1609m, 1600m, 1428m, 1408m, 1400m (4), 1267m, 1200m, 1100m, 1000m.

Dynamic Syndications at the 2018 yearling sales, were keen to see how OLYMPIC GLORY progeny looked and we were delighted with what we saw.

Like him,
they were strong, athletic, good boned, sprinter types.
When we saw the yearling from Group 1 Winner COVERTLY he was an elite individual and we became focused upon buying him.

Our Colt at the yearling sales

Any colt by a Champion Racehorse (who was a 4 time Group 1 Winner), from a Group 1 Winner who won 6 Races 4 at 2 has a recipe for success.

Add in the fact the mare has produced 4 foals to race – 3 winners and each of these winners is Stakes Class with DETECTIVE winning a Listed Race and placed at Gr2 and Listed level.

Bourne Supremacy

Secret Doubt

Bourne Supremacy won 5 races and was Gr3 placed whilst Secret Doubt won 2 races and ran 4th in a Listed Race.
Genetically the cross is highly successful with 61 Stakes Winners on the 3 x 3 Danehill x Kalamoun cross.
When our veterinarian Dr. Tim Roberts checked the X-Rays and scope and gave us the green light to buy him, we determined a true market valuation on him of up to $150,000.
When the horse was in the ring, we were delighted to hold the winning bid at $120,000 + GST. That was $30,000 under our ceiling price and represented a 20% discount we could pass onto our owners.
He must have impressed the team at Arrowfield Stud as an individual from day 1 because as soon as he was knocked down to Dynamic Syndications, Arrowfield came to us and thanked us for buying him and then asked if they could purchase a 10% share in him as a potential racing and stallion prospect.

That’s the ultimate endorsement, when the breeder sells into the open market and then buys back into the horse.
So we have been waiting patiently to see how the OLYMPIC GLORY progeny would perform on the track in the Northern Hemisphere and we are delighted with his early results.
We believe we have purchased one of his best yearlings - so do Arrowfield STud - that's why they purchased back into him.
Bred to be good with looks to match, we have a colt who is By a Gr1 Winner - From a Gr1 Winner and is a ½ brother to a Stakes Winner whilst his second dam is a Stakes Winner – hence he has the commercial pedigree page to be an attractive sire prospect if his deeds on the track can marry up with his looks and pedigree.
With 5% shares at $11,000 including GST, this is a serious colt for an owner who wants to race a horse bred to be a black type horse.

This colt is a standout and warrants consideration.

We invite you to join Arrowfield Stud to race this OLYMPIC GLORY x COVERTLY Colt with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

Give ADAM WATT - Director of Sales and Marketing at Dynamic Syndications a call on 02 9540 1511 or 0409 464 378 and find out more about this exciting colt.
