Caravaggio became the FIRST Northern Hemisphere Freshman SIRE to record a WINNER when TENEBRISM (2f Caravaggio x Immortal Verse, by Pivotal) bolted home at Naas on Sunday. A Brilliant dual Group 1 winning sprinter himself, Caravaggio (USA) during his racing days was rightly referred to as the “Ballydoyle Bullet.” He shuttled to Coolmore Australia for only the one season and that crop are now yearlings being offered at our sales this year.

Patton became the third Australian winner for American Pharoah’s first crop in the Southern Hemisphere, having already sired 14 stakes-winners and 13 stakes-placed in the Northern Hemisphere, three (3) of them Group 1 winners and another five (5) Group 1 placegetters.

Standing at the powerhouse thoroughbred nursery Waikato Stud, super sire SAVABEEL added to his Group 1 tally last Saturday when his daughter Amarelinha (Savabeel-Hopscotch, by O'Reilly) won the Gr1 New Zealand Oaks to become the twenty-second individual Group 1 winner.
