SOCIABLE 4yo Bay Gelding Yes Yes Yes / Workdrinks (Fastnet Rock). Summary: 8 = 2:1:3:1
Confidence is key and our horse was fit and well and also looking for the increase in trip.
Despite carrying the top-weight he smashed the clock in a jog-trot-canter.

1:08.55 (600m 34.18), 3.38L Class Record (Previous was 1:09.36 set by Forty Thirty in 2010)
Both of his wins have been in Record Times.
Firstly, he set a Course Record at Kilmore when breaking his Maiden over 1100m running 1:02.91 on 15 October 24.
Then here with this win in Class 1 grade at Wyong over 1200m. He broke the 15-year Class Record standard by 0.81 sec (approx. 5.7 lengths) running 1:08.55.
Since Dynamic Syndications purchased the horse, he has started for us on 3 occasions = 1:1:1 and banked $31,900:
2nd at Kembla 1000m $7,450
3rd Kembla 1000m $3,900
1st Wyong 1200m $20,550
We came to the track wanting to be positive, based upon the speed map showing that a couple may go forward, and we wanted to take a position tracking on speed.
However, on the way the first three races of the day unfolded the winners all lead. So, the speed map tempo changed, and several runners wanted to lead which was to be more of a challenge.
Disappointingly as the gates crashed back, SOCIABLE was inexplicably slow away, and then the rider of despised outsider Chicalote lost his compass and went straight left which cannoned into SOCIABLE to make our poor start even worse.
After the first furlong, instead of settling where we had hoped in second spot, we ended up settling second last, 6-lengths away on a track playing leader biased.
Adam Hyeronimus knew straight away that Plan A was all over, so rode his own race as the leaders Ride The River and Chicolate were setting a sizzling pace.
Adam got SOCIABLE into a rhythm and let the race unfold running down the back straight. Passing the 800m there was no change in the race order as the pace was still being injected into the race by the leading pair and other riders were happy to let that battle continue.
Passing the 600m Adam and SOCIABLE were still second last but had crept a length closer in the run, now 5-lengths off the pace.
From the 500m, Adam improved his position asking SOCIABLE to extend 3-deep around the turn at the 400m, and our dynamic galloper quickly gathered in those directly in front of him. As the leaders started the swing into the home straight, Adam now had found the crown of the track down the centre and was up into third place with a lap full of horse.
Into the straight at the 300m Chicolate quickly yielded. SOCIABLE was a length off the leader and starting to make giant strides.

Under hands and heels SOCIABLE eyeballed Ride The River for 50m before passing the 100m marker, Adam pushed the ‘go-button’ and went whoosh.

In nothing more than an exercise gallop, they put up a widening gap on the field and allowed to ease right down over the concluding stages, SOCIABLE was able to canter across the line to record a 3.38 length margin over the runner-up with a further 1.2 lengths away was third.

JOB DONE!
Racecallers description from the final 600m: “At the 600m SOCIABLE gives them a start and looks as though it’s just trying to pick its way through between runners. As they come to the turn and start to build momentum now, SOCIABLE is the fresh legs, the favourite looms ominously on the turn, into the straight SOCIABLE, is looming big up on the outside of Ride The River, SOCIABLE boots away! SOCIABLE, it’s just a case of times and margins, SOCIABLE comes down to win from Ride The River, photo for third Vin Santo.”
Sky Channel commentator Gavin Carmody said: “So SOCIABLE comes from the back, and Adam knew when to get moving on the favourite. He was in striking distance on the home corner, as soon as he went to Ride The River, he shot away, and put the race to bed, and he’s won by a margin. Defying what we have seen early, he has come from the back, and he knew the right time to go.
“SOCIABLE looked to have a bit on his rivals and the market suggested that and he gets another win on the board.
“1:08.55 is the time that’s gone up, and 34.18 the last 600m, boy o’boy! Three and a half by one and a quarter, Ciaron Maher and Adam Hyeronimus combine with SOCIABLE, who wins here third-up from a spell a gelding by YES YES YES out of a Fastnet Rock mare in WORKDRINKS. So 3 ½ by 1 ¼ and he’s absolutely towelled them up after coming from the back. And as soon as he got to within striking distance of the home corner, he was the one you wanted to be on.”

Adam Hyeronimus was interviewed post-race saying; “He was good. He had come out of some quick races, 1200m was always going to suit him. The stable said this morning the preferable option would be to switch him off early, and ride him quiet, but didn’t think that was going to be possible today, but he actually come back great, but got smashed by the horse inside him, and that forced us back. And once I started to let him creep into the race, he was always going to win. It was just a matter of getting to a point at the top of the straight where I didn’t have to be putting too much pressure on him in that last 200m, and he was just too good for them.”

To be fair to the horse, he has been a work in progress, doing many things wrong in his previous two race starts for us and it was good to see he is starting to improve his manners. Last start at Kembla when third, he threw the race away by wanting to lay in under pressure, and our rider had to stop and straighten him up losing momentum.
Again, here at Wyong, upon straightening he wanted to lie in towards the fence, but such was the dominance of his win Adam didn’t need to battle him as he strode passed his opponents with ease and Adam was able to steer him far more easily, despite still wanting to make a line to the fence.
This success was Dynamic Syndications 17th Win for the season and our 968th Race Win overall and became our 330th Individual Winner.
ONWARDS and UPWARDS – FOREVER FORWARDS!
