Our Richard and Will Freedman trained honest 4YO Mare HORIZONS (The Autumn Sun / Sabanci) was back in the winner’s circle at Canterbury on Wednesday having won Race 5 the HELLBENT YEARLINGS HANDICAP over 1900m, but she had to do it the hard way. HORIZONS “WON IT” on the Track and “WON IT” in again in the Stewards Room when connections successfully defended the win, when a protest of second verse first was quickly dismissed.

Karaka 2026 will take place at the Karaka Sales Centre from 25 - 29 January, marking the 100th National Yearling Sale in New Zealand. NZ’s climate and countryside provide a fertile breeding ground for thoroughbred excellence. In the history of the 100 years of the NZB National Yearling Sale, many legends of the racetrack have emerged. Among the historic names Phar Lap (NZ), Rising Fast (NZ), Tulloch (NZ), Dulcify (NZ), Octagonal (NZ) and So You Think (NZ).

Inglis 2026 Classic Yearling Sale Catalogue Online

The catalogue for the 2026 Classic Yearling Sale – the fastest growing success story of the Southern Hemisphere’s early-season auctions – is now available online.
