BRAD WIDDUP Proving to be a HUGE Success as a Trainer

15 Dec 17

Last Sunday at the magnificent PLATINUM PARK Racing Stables which backs onto Hawkesbury Racecourse, Australia’s Hottest Young Trainer BRAD WIDDUP, his wife Milissa and their family Cooper, Maddie and Hunter hosted a morning brunch for their owners prior to the races at Hawkesbury.

This allowed owners the opportunity to come out and see their horses and enjoy TEAM WIDDUP hospitality.

PLATINUM PARK is the five star horse facility owned by prominent racehorse owner and breeder Damion Flower through his racing company Jadeskye Racing.

The morning was a great success.

The same as the immediate impact BRAD WIDDUP has had in the training ranks.

Whilst we have been supporting BRAD from the day he went out on his own in May 2017, the press and industry professionals alike are all taking notice of the incredible results BRAD has been achieving.

Here is an extract of the latest article posted by “BLINKERS OFF” in this week’s publication headed:

“The record he's established in the first seven months of his training career is nothing short of outstanding.

Since 26th May 2017 he's had 87 runners in total for 25 winners, which is an amazing 28.7% strike rate and +36.7% POT.

He's saddled up 25 favourites for 12 winners, a 48% SR and +21.8% POT.

Widdup had previously worked under John Hawkes when he was training for the Inghams and then became head foreman for Peter Snowden when he took over that operation in 2007, before continuing in that role when the Ingham's racing interests were purchased by Darley in 2008 (now Godolphin.)

You don't get a much better CV than that to go out and make it on your own as a trainer and the early record put together by Widdup suggests that he has the potential to rise to the top.

From a punters perspective, if you like one of his horses then you can certainly bet with confidence.

Further analysis of these facts and figures reveals  for the 2017-18 Racing Season in NSW within the Top 20 NSW Trainers, Brad Widdup has produced 18 Winners from 67 Starters which is a strike rate of 26.87%.

That places him in 2nd position overall to Newcastle Trainer Ben Smith.

In NSW - only 6 of the Top 20 training stables have a strike rate at 20% or higher. They are (in order):

Ben Smith 40.54%, Brad Widdup 26.87%, James Cummings 26.57%, Baker 23.77%, Danny Williams 22.97%. Waterhouse/Bott 21.67%, Pride 21.43%, Snowden 20.74%. In comparison, Waller’s strike rate is currently 14.24% placing that stable 15th position.

At the provincials this season, BRAD has trained 9 winners from 30 starters which is a 30.0% strike rate.

That has him placed in 3rd position to James Cummings 34.82% and Joe Pride 32.79%.

In comparison, Waterhouse/Bott’s strike rate is a very good 25.71% (5th position) whilst Waller’s strike rate is currently only 11.66% placing that stable in 17th position.

Hunter, Brad, Cooper & Maddi Widdup - Welcome owners to their stable.

One of the 32 horses Brad currently has in training at Platinum Park is paraded for owners and clients.

Dynamic Syndications have a number of runners resuming from spells over the coming weeks in the care of Team Widdup and on what we saw on Sunday at the stables, our horses are all looking magnificent and primed to compete well.

The resumption run of Chilcotin last Sunday was simply brilliant when running home sensational sectionals to just miss when finishing second at Hawkesbury.

Marie Yianni gives CHILCOTIN a pat before he headed to the races that afternoon. (He finished second)

Also coming up over the next 7 days
we have ready to return to racing : Aberration, Lunar Spin, Silent Sea, We Have Lift Off, Resort and Ibini whilst our following horses will be trialling on Monday as a hit out before they too resume racing - Witches, Miami Dade and Femtometre.

With BRAD’S incredible strike rate, we suggest you may wish to look out for the Dynamic Syndications / Team Widdup runners over the summer period.
