Show Horses

Dynamic Syndications have reported in recent times on the progress of one of our Thoroughbred friends PERSISTENCY (“Percy”), an ex-Dynamic racehorse that has taken all before him in the show ring. However two (2) other recently retired Dynamic racehorses MAGNILOQUENT and SUPERIOR INSTINCT look set to follow a similar pathway after both winning their classes on debut at different shows last weekend.

Below is a snapshot of the progression of each of these 3 horses:

(by Testa Rossa x Rorkes) suffered a career ending injury on his racetrack debut. He had bowed both tendons, but with the care, dedication and the attention of a devoted young lady, “PERCY” as he was fondly known around the stables, was nursed back to health and soundness. Although his racing days were over, the strong and handsome thoroughbred was always the favourite of young Courtney Smith.

Courtney and Percy went on to win (7) provincial agricultural shows before winning the Novice Class at the Sydney Royal Show in 2014.

Now two other retired racehorses appear set to make their presence felt in their new sporting life:

Following on from this wonderful story, the team at Dynamic Syndications received some fantastic news today about another one of our former chargers, Magniloquent (a Magnus Gelding out of  Rather Grand), who had until recently, recorded a successful racing career, starting 17 times for two wins, two seconds, and a third, with prizemoney of over $75,000.

was raced by Dynamic Syndications and partners, Mr M Christopher, Mr I F Linford, Mr S F Duggan, Mr P K Green, Mr D J Seccafien, Dynamic Syndications No 11, Dynamic Syndications No 12, until succumbing to an injury which ended his career and his future was uncertain.

Wanting to ensure MAGNILOQUENT found a good home, we asked Dynamic trainer Matthew Dunn if he could recommend anyone to our team that would be able to give our horse a second chance.

Matt recommended Belinda Van Berkel, an accomplished horse woman with experience as a re-educator and track work rider.

Belinda was looking for a horse that she could take care of and add longevity to a career that was cut short well before time.

Belinda fell in love with Magniloquent (or "Max" as she calls him at home) and in no time had him educated in his new role of dressage.

Looking smart he took to his new role instantly and behaving as if he was born for the dressage arena.

Belinda was confident he was ready to compete, so she enrolled him to the Ballina & District Equestrian Day, a fun day where riders from around the place come and compete in various events such as Thoroughbred class, Hacking class events, rider class (senior and junior), pleasure mounting and other various classes on the day.

The result?

Magniloquent with his 5 winning ribbons

(as he is still referred to in competition) was a stand out and as always, performed as a true professional, picking up five 1st place ribbons from 5 events as pictured with Belinda.

Belinda said there is many more events on Max’s schedule and commented how proud she was of his efforts as well as appreciative of the opportunity she was afforded by the connections of him, and the Matthew Dunn Racing Team, adding that she may plan to enter him in next year’s Qld Ekka show, such is her opinion of him.

Congratulations Belinda !

It was a top weekend on the dressage scene for another ex Dynamic runner named SUPERIOR INSTINCT.

Superior Instinct winning at Randwick

Courtney Smith who had guided Percy to heights in his new career took SUPERIOR INSTINCT to his first show in the Coalfields Riding Club (Hunter region) and was successful winning his class.

Courtney has given SUPERIOR INSTINCT a new competition name of CS SILHOUETTE and the pair won on debut.

Congratulations Courtney !
